Bhatkal: Preparations have been made to establish an amusement park adjacent to the old Vaibhav Hotel within the municipal jurisdiction of the taluk. However, Municipal Councillor Fayaz Mulla has raised concerns about public safety and called for a prohibition on the project.

In a press statement, he highlighted that the proposed location for the amusement park is in close proximity to National Highway 66, posing a potential threat to the public due to vehicular traffic. Mulla cited a recent incident where a child lost their life after being struck by a car while crossing the highway near an existing amusement park. He emphasized the importance of granting permission for such establishments, suggesting that if necessary, they should be located at a safe distance from the national highway to avoid disruptions to vehicular movement and public safety. Mulla urged the local administration and the police department to address this matter promptly.
