Bhatkal: A group of lawyers from Bhatkal hold a protest to condemn the alleged assault on a fellow lawyer in Chikkamagaluru and demand action against the police personnel responsible here infront of Assistant Commissioner office, Bhatkal on Wednesday.

The protest was led by Bhatkal Bar Association president Ganesh Devadiga, who submitted a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister to the Assistant Commissioner Dr. Nayana.

Speaking at the protest, senior advocate R R Shresti condemned the assault on the lawyer and demanded that the government take action against the police personnel responsible for the incident, including their arrest. 

Advocate Syed Imran Lanka also sought legislation that ensures safety and security for lawyers. He also urged the government to implement the Lawyers' Protection Act.

Bhatkal Bar Association Vice-President Ishwar Naik, General Secretary Nagaraj Naik, Victor Gomes, Nagaraj EH, SB Bommai, JD Bhat, Shankar Naik, Rajesh Naik, SM Khan and many others were present.
