Bhatkal: In a commendable initiative to empower women and provide them with self-employment opportunities, the Rabita Society has announced the commencement of a new batch of sewing and embroidery training classes. This marks the third series of training programs offered by the society, set to begin on November 1, with admissions now open.
During a WhatsApp chat, Atiqur Rahman Muniri, General Secretary of Rabita Society, clarified that the primary objective of the training program is to equip women with valuable skills that will enable them to become self-sufficient and start their own income-generating activities. The program will cover both traditional and modern sewing techniques, alongside embroidery skills, allowing participants to work from home and contribute to their household income. He also added that this initiative by the Rabita Society not only aims to enhance the skills of women in the community but also strives to foster economic independence, making a significant impact on their lives.
Saleem Sada, convenor of the sewing and embroidery classes, stated that over a hundred women had participated in the previous two batches, most of whom received full training and can now work from home. He emphasized that after this training, women can not only manage their household finances but can also become examples for others through their skills.
Ilyas Siddibapa, the Assistant Convenor for the sewing and embroidery classes, informed that two trained instructors will facilitate the classes. Should there be a high demand for enrollment, arrangements will be made to offer two sessions per day—morning and evening; otherwise, a single session of two hours will be conducted daily.
According to Rabita Office Manager Tahir Qazia, the classes are scheduled to be held from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM for the morning session and from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM for the evening session, depending on the number of registrations received.
He further informed that prospective participants are encouraged to register at the Rabita Society office before the commencement date of November 1.
