Bhatkal: Shiv Shantika School wins Naunihal trophy in under-17 Volleyball tournament

Bhatkal: Shiv Shantika Government School Marukeri emerged as champions of the Bhatkal Under-17 Volleyball Tournament organized by Naunihal Central School. In the final match, they defeated Sonarkeri Government School with a convincing 2-0 victory, claiming the Naunihal Trophy and a cash prize of ₹4,444. The Sonarkeri team secured the runner-up position, receiving a trophy and ₹2,222 as the prize money.

The two-day tournament, held on Thursday and Friday, saw participation from eight teams, including Islamia Anglo Urdu High School, New Shams School, Ali Public School, Sonarkeri Govt School, Naunihal Central School (A and B), Jamia Islamia, and Shiv Shantika Govt School Marukeri. Displaying outstanding performance, Islamia Anglo Urdu High School, New Shams School, Shiv Shantika School, and Sonarkeri School advanced to the semifinals.

In the first semifinal, Sonarkeri defeated Islamia Anglo Urdu High School in a thrilling match, while Shiv Shantika secured their place in the final by overcoming New Shams School in the second semifinal.

The final match, played on Friday evening, witnessed a tough battle between Shiv Shantika and Sonarkeri. However, Shiv Shantika dominated the game and clinched the championship.

Karthik from Shiv Shantika School, who showcased exceptional skills throughout the tournament, was awarded the Player of the Tournament title.

The referees for the tournament were Tilak and Vinayak, who officiated the matches. The closing ceremony was graced by officials from Naunihal Central School, including Vice Chairman Aouf Kola, Abdullah Kola, and other staff members, along with physical education teachers and school staff.
