Bhatkal: Expressing strong displeasure over the derogatory remarks made by Yati Narasimhanand against the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, Bhatkal’s social organization, Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem, has announced that a memorandum will be submitted to the Chief Justice of India via the Assistant Commissioner (AC) on Monday, along with a call for a Bhatkal bandh on Tuesday, October 15.

After several meetings over the past few days with community leaders, representatives of various organizations, including the Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation and sports centers, Tanzeem has decided that a protest demonstration will be held outside the AC office at Mini Vidhana Soudha, where a memorandum will be submitted to the Chief Justice of India through the Bhatkal AC. Tanzeem has urged the public to gather in large numbers outside Mini Vidhana Soudha at exactly 4:30 PM on Monday.

In a press release issued by Tanzeem, it was announced that along with the protest demonstration on Monday, a peaceful bandh will be observed in Bhatkal on Tuesday, October 15. During the bandh, all shops, businesses, offices, schools, colleges, religious madrasas, autorickshaws, tempos, hotels, and construction activities will remain closed. The sale of essential goods, including meat, fish, milk, vegetables, and fruits, will also be halted. The public has been requested to ensure the bandh’s success by showing their deep respect for the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and expressing their sentiments against the insult.

The press release further urged every individual and institution in the community to cooperate in ensuring the complete success of the bandh. It was clarified that the bandh will last throughout Tuesday, October 15, until night, with all activities resuming as usual on Wednesday, October 16.
