Bhatkal: Rangin Katta National Highway is prone to accidents, yet neither the National Highway Authority nor the IRB company nor the taluk administration is addressing this issue.
As one proceeds from Shamsuddin Circle towards Shirali, the highway to Rangin Katta changes from four lanes to double lanes due to an untouched rain drain that has been neglected for many months. There are no warning signs or danger boards near this drain, making it crucial for drivers to slow down and move cautiously to the right when they notice the road ending. Since there is no lighting along the highway within the city, a speeding driver may not see this drain in the darkness of night, leading to a potential accident.
The public is urging the administration to take necessary preventive measures promptly rather than waiting for an accident to occur.
