Bhatkal: Under the auspices of the Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation, player bids for the AUZ BCL cricket tournament took place on Sunday.
All-rounder Hayat Shaikh from Murdeshwar's Alwafa team emerged as the highest bid player, becoming the most expensive acquisition by the My Book team at 180 points. Following closely, the all-rounder from Bhatkal Madina team, Ubadah Barmawar, was secured by AUZ Challengers with a bid of 160 points. Next in line was Nasrullah Askiri, the hard-hitting batsman from Dongar Palli, Moon Star team, who was acquired by Square Riders at a bid of 120 points.
The player bidding process commenced at 9 o'clock in the morning on Sunday. Out of the total 396 registered players from the 34 cricket teams of Bhatkal, Murdeshwar, and Manki 204 players have been selected for all the 12 teams of the tournament.
Twelve teams are set to compete in the AUZ BCL (Bhatkal Cricket League) cricket tournament, scheduled to commence on 3 November. All matches will be hosted at the Bhatkal taluka stadium (YMSA ground). The tournament is proudly organized by the Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation, the umbrella organization representing various Muslim sports centers in Bhatkal.
