Bhatkal: The body of 22-year-old Hafiz Kashif Nadvi, son of Ismail Ruknuddin, who had gone missing after drowning in the Arabian Sea at Sodigadde beach on Sunday evening, was finally recovered early Monday morning at 4:20 am.
It is noteworthy that on Sunday evening, a tragic incident occurred when fourteen-year-old Inamullah, son of Maulana Niamatullah Askiri Nadvi, and young scholar Mohammad Kashif Ruknuddin drowned in the Arabian Sea. Inamullah was rescued from the sea but unfortunately passed away before reaching the hospital. His funeral prayer was conducted at Tanzeem Juma Masjid at 11:30 the same night, and he was laid to rest at Nawayat Colony. Meanwhile, the search operation for Kashif continued.
A team of young expert swimmers and divers tirelessly searched for Kashif throughout the night, aided by others on the beach using powerful batteries to assist the divers.
In the early hours of the morning, moments before the Fajr Azan (Morning Prayer), when the sea water receded, Kashif's body surfaced. The youth present quickly retrieved the body and transported it to Bhatkal Government Hospital. Upon hearing the news, hundreds of people gathered at the hospital after Fajr prayer to bid farewell to the deceased and offer condolences to the family.
After the necessary procedures, the body was taken to Kashif's residence at Azad Nagar first cross. The funeral prayer was held at 11 am at Tanzeem Juma Masjid in Nawayat Colony, followed by the burial in the nearby graveyard.
