Dubai: Unique Strikers defeated Abu Dhabi Riders and Skinmade Smashers surpassed Saalif Chargers to seal berth in the final of Bhatkal Premier League (BPL) T-20 Cricket Tournament which is underway in Sharjah, about 28km from Dubai, which is the largest and the most populous city in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

In the first semi final, electing to bowl first, Unique Strikers restricted Abu Dhabi Riders to 153 runs on board in their allotted 20 overs. In reply, Unique Strikers managed to make way into finals with one over to spare by conceding only 5 wickets. Unique Strikers’ Batsmen Akhlaq Ahmed (45 (38)) and unbeaten Mohtasim Jakti (38 (35))* powered the team to seal the victory over Abu Dhabi Riders who gave tough fight to Unique Strikers. Mohtasim Jakti was crowned with Man of the match award.

In the second semi final, Skinmade Smashers defeated Saalif Chargers comprehensively to confirm their match with Unique Strikers for the final showdown. Winning the toss, Skinmade Smashers invited Saalif Chargers to bat first, wherein the latter put up a score of 162 runs with Abdul Hameed Gawai banging 74 off 49 balls. In reply, Skinmade Smashers triumphed victory by bashing a respectable 166-2 runs in 17.2 overs with the help of Abdul Qavi, Ismail Khan and Minhaj Tahira’s quick fire knocks. Abdul Qavi who banged 65 off 48 balls was declared man of the match for his performance.

The final match between Skinmade Smashers and Unique Strikers all set to kick-off shortly at Oval ground in Sharjah. The ground is enthralled with thousands of crowd, which is expected to pack as the match set to begin.
