CCB Police Busts Counterfeiting Operation in Mangaluru, Seizes Fake Notes

Mangaluru: Mangalore City Crime Branch (CCB) police arrested a youth of Kerala origin for attempting to circulate counterfeit currency near Kankanady in the city on Sunday.

The arrested suspect has been identified as Prashwit (25), a resident of Abupadpu, Manjeshwar. 

The accused had circulated fake notes with face values of Rs.500, Rs.200, and Rs.100, totaling around 8 to 9 thousand rupees, according to the police.

During the arrest, the police recovered from the accused three fake notes of Rs.500 face value, two fake notes of Rs.200 face value, three fake notes of Rs.100 face value, and genuine notes amounting to Rs.10,000. Additionally, a mobile phone with an approximate value of Rs.4,250 was seized.

The police are conducting further investigations into the circulation of counterfeit currency.
