Bhatkal: There is so much garbage piled up along Jamiaabad Road and Hanifabad Road in the Heble Gram Panchayat limits that people automatically cover their noses while passing through the areas. However, residents of these affected areas can now breathe a sigh of relief, and passersby can also have peace of mind, as CCTV cameras have been installed by the Heble Panchayat.

Heble Panchayat member Syed Ali said that with the support of local people, three cameras have been installed on Hanifabad Road, three cameras on Jamiaabad Road, and one camera on Mina Road. He further mentioned that more cameras will be installed in other places soon. These cameras will provide full monitoring of the areas, identifying those who are turning these places into garbage heaps.

According to Syed Ali, Heble Panchayat has arranged a vehicle to collect household waste. Every alternate day, the vehicle reaches each house to collect the waste. He noted that the people dumping garbage are not locals; rather, they are from other areas. It is expected that with the installation of cameras, the entire area will be kept clean, and garbage will no longer be seen on the roads.

Syed Ali mentioned that a resolution has been passed by Heble Panchayat imposing a fine of Rs 500 for the first offense. The person caught throwing garbage will also be asked to remove and clean it. For a second offense, a fine of Rs 5000 will be imposed, and a complaint will be filed against the offender at the police station.

It should be noted that in Islam, cleanliness is considered half of faith. However, it is a matter of great concern that most garbage heaps are found in Muslim areas. Muslims are required to maintain the cleanliness of their bodies and clothes, as well as their streets, neighborhoods, and roads. A person is recognized by a good environment and a good family. Dirt is the worst enemy of human dignity and greatness, and people naturally avoid dirty areas. According to Islamic scholars, the high number of Muslim patients in hospitals is due to the unsanitary conditions in their areas, where mosquito-borne diseases are prevalent. For a healthy life, it is essential to keep one's body, house, and surroundings clean.
