Mumbai: Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee president Nana Patole stated that the upcoming meeting of the INDIA opposition bloc, scheduled for August 31 and September 1 in Mumbai, has the objective of ousting the Narendra Modi government from the Centre.
According to media reports, the Congress leader emphasized that this meeting holds the potential to "give a new direction to the country."
Patole elaborated, saying, "The INDIA alliance meeting is slated to convene in Mumbai on August 31 and September 1. In our preparations for its success, we held a meeting at Matoshree on Wednesday and finalized the agenda. The significance of this meeting lies in its potential to reshape the nation's trajectory. The central goal of this gathering is to remove the Modi government from power at the Centre."
Preceding the pivotal INDIA bloc meeting, the party convened a Wednesday meeting as part of their preparation strategy. This gathering marked the third in a series, following earlier meetings in Patna and Bengaluru.
Addressing speculations surrounding Sharad Pawar's potential association with the BJP, Patole addressed the matter in light of a meeting between the NCP president and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in Pune. Patole affirmed that Sharad Pawar, being a significant leader, is well-equipped to make decisions for his party. Patole clarified, "He has already clarified his stance on the meeting between him and Ajit last week."
