Bhatkal: Mankal Vaidya, the district in-charge minister of Uttara Kannada, emphasized the far-reaching influence of teachers during the inauguration of the Uttara Kannada district-level Teachers' Day program. He stated that while most individuals possess limited property, a teacher's property extends across the globe.
The event was inaugurated in collaboration with the District Administration, Zilla Panchayat Uttara Kannada, the Deputy Director (Administration) of the School Education Department Uttara Kannada, the Office of the Block Education Bhatkal, and the Bhatkal Urban Co-operative Bank.
Gangubai Maankar, the Deputy Commissioner, highlighted the multifaceted role of teachers, noting that they not only impart education to children but also play a vital role in their upbringing. She stressed the significance of teachers in the development of every individual. While acknowledging the quality of government schools, she expressed concern about the trend of students enrolling in private schools due to a preference for English medium education. Maankar emphasized that it is the teachers' responsibility to maintain the standards of government schools.
The program received a warm welcome from Lata M., Deputy Director (Administration) of the School Education Department. The program also featured a vote of thanks delivered by Bhatkal Block Education Officer V.D. Moger, with teachers Sridhar Shet, Parameshwar Naik, Manjula Shiruru, and Pratibha Karkikar hosting the event. Additionally, outstanding teachers from the district and taluks were honored and recognized during the program.
