Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan has expressed dissatisfaction with the slow progress of national highway works in various parts of DK district and has issued directives to expedite the projects.
He conducted an meeting at the DC office on Tuesday and visited Baikampadi, B.C. Road, and Mani areas where the highway work is progressing sluggishly. This slow pace is causing significant disruptions to daily traffic in these areas, posing a serious problem. The Collector urged the highway department officials to accelerate the pace of their work.
To ensure a pleasant atmosphere for the public visiting Kadri Park in the city, the Collector recommended taking measures to prevent traffic congestion on the road leading to Kadri Park.
Furthermore, the DC instructed officials to engage in discussions with local MLAs and put forth a proposal to establish a committee responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of Kavurukere and Gujjare lakes, as well as ensuring proper upkeep of water facilities.
