Karwar: As directed by the Election Commission of India, the draft voter list for the 76-Haliyal, 77-Karwar, 78-Kumta, 79-Bhatkal, 80-Sirsi, and 81-Yellapur assembly constituencies of Uttara Kannada district has been released across the district. The draft voter lists have been published for public information in polling booths, village panchayats, urban local bodies, as well as the offices of the Tahsildars, Sub-Divisional Officers, and District Collectors. The public can verify whether their names have been included in the draft voter lists.
Those who have completed 18 years of age as of the Eligibility Date: 01-01-2024, and members of the public can apply for the addition of new names using Form-6, for the removal of names using Form-7, and for corrections in names using Form-8, along with the necessary documents. These applications should be submitted to the respective Polling Officer (BLO) or the Assistant Electoral Registrar (Tahsildar) Office during the period from 27-10-2023 to 09-12-2023, as per the election schedule.
Special camps will be held at district polling stations on 18th and 19th of November and on 2nd and 3rd of December. The final Electoral Roll will be notified on 05-01-2024.
All political parties are required to appoint Booth Level Agents (BLOs) from their respective parties. The list of appointed individuals, along with their polling station numbers and mobile numbers, must be provided to the Tahsildar.
Youth voters aged between 18 and 19 years will be registered. The public has been provided with the opportunity to register and make amendments through a mobile app. Additionally, with the assistance of the polling officers, provisions have been made for correcting names and addresses.
In the district, the current total number of voters is 1,181,557, including 91324 males, 90231 females, and 2 third-gender individuals in the Haliya assembly constituency. The Karwar assembly constituency has a total of 220436 voters, including 108637 males and 111799 females. The Kumta assembly constituency has 94288 males, 94612 females, and 3 third-gender individuals. The Bhatkal assembly constituency has a total of 188903 voters, including the third gender, and the Sirsi Assembly Constituency has 201141 voters, with 100925 males, 100214 females, and 2 third-gender voters. Finally, the Yellapur Assembly Constituency has 92506 males, 90659 females, and 1 third-gender individual, with a total of 183166 voters. Overall, the district has 1,198,532 voters, including 600982 males, 597542 females, and 8 third-gender individuals.
