Udupi: Health officials in Udupi district conducted a series of raids on unauthorized clinics and laboratories in accordance with the Karnataka Private Medical Establishments Act.
Acting on complaints regarding quacks and unlicensed facilities, the Health and Family Welfare Department, along with taluk-level authorities, took swift action. During the inspections, it was revealed that some practitioners were operating without the necessary licenses.
In Adi Udupi, A.R. Acharya faced a case for practicing Allopathy without proper authorization, while in Aururu, Sandesh Rao's clinic was not only shut down but also faced legal consequences for operating without technical expertise or a license.
The department emphasized the importance of seeking medical services only from registered practitioners and urged the public to report any information about fake medical practitioners.
