Home Minister Inaugurates New Police Stations in Mangaluru

Mangaluru: Home Minister, G Parameshwara, highlighted the government's commitment to modernizing the police department, emphasizing the establishment of a Central Command and Control Centre in Bengaluru. This unique facility, expected to be operational within the next four months, will employ CCTV and high-resolution cameras for comprehensive surveillance, covering even the most remote police stations in the state.

Speaking after inauguration of new buildings for Bajpe and Mangaluru Rural police stations and the City Armed Reserve (CAR) office building, here on Sunday, he said, a committee has been formed with representatives of the IT and home department and work in this regard has begun.

Regarding the funding, the minister disclosed that approximately Rs 134 crore had been allocated to the project, enabling real-time information transmission to the command centre. During his visit to Mangaluru, he inaugurated the Bajpe and Mangaluru Rural police stations, along with the City Armed Reserve (CAR) office building.

Furthermore, Parameshwara shared updates on the 'Police Gruha' initiative, stating that 40% of the police staff had already been provided with housing, with the aim of reaching 70% within the next five years. The construction for this housing initiative is being overseen by the Karnataka State Police Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation.

Assembly Speaker UT Khader, Mangaluru City North MLA Dr Y Bharath Shetty, City Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal and various other dignitaries were present.
