BENGALURU: The monsoon will arrive in Karnataka on June 5, bringing a promising season of rainfall. Earlier forecasts by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had indicated an early onset of monsoon in Karnataka, expected to start on May 31.
According to the latest IMD forecast, this news offers hope for Bengaluru and other parts of Karnataka facing severe water shortages. The expected good monsoon season will positively impact the agricultural sector and help alleviate water scarcity in the region.
CS Patil, a meteorologist at IMD, stated that all districts of the state, including Bengaluru, will continue to receive isolated and scattered rains until May 31.
This year, Karnataka is anticipated to receive substantial and evenly distributed rainfall, particularly in Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka. However, there is a possibility that the monsoon's arrival could be delayed by four to five days due to potential cyclonic disturbances.
