Bhatkal: All preparations for the SSLC exam, set to commence on March 25, have been finalized in Bhatkal. This year, a total of 2,336 students, including both freshers and repeaters, with 1,179 boys and 1,157 girls, are registered to take the exam.

The taluka has established 8 examination centers, all of which are equipped with essential facilities, including CCTV surveillance. To ensure the exams are conducted smoothly, three taluka vigilance squads, eight sitting squads, eight chief superintendents, eight paper custodians, eight mobile custody officers, and 190 room supervisors have been appointed. This was shared by Bhatkal Block Education Officer, VD Moger.

Moger also mentioned that comprehensive preparations have been made to aid the students, including subject-wise guidance classes, meetings with parents, and workshops for both students and teachers, with the anticipation of achieving good results this year.

He highlighted the effective coordination with taluka officials, including Taluka Assistant Commissioners and Tahsildars, to prevent any issues for students during the exams. Additionally, arrangements for hot meals have been made for the examinees this year.

In a significant move for private candidates, 343 students, comprising 277 boys and 66 girls, have been allowed to sit for their exams in Bhatkal itself, instead of traveling approximately 125km to Karwar as in previous years.

Moger expressed optimism about the academic performance, noting that although no student from Bhatkal taluka has ever achieved 100 percent marks, this year over 100 students are expected to score between 98% and 99%. Special guidance and training were provided to these students, raising hopes that some might achieve 100% marks for the first time.
