The government is likely to amend the Reserve Bank of India Act to extinguish the validity of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 printed before November 9 and a reference to this effect would be made in the upcoming Budget.

Delhi Police today raided the office of a law firm in southeast Delhi's Greater Kailash-I area and recovered Rs 10 crore in cash, of which Rs 2.5 crore was in new banknotes released after demonetisation.

More than 30 people died when a petrol tanker crashed into other vehicles and burst into flames outside the town of Naivasha in Kenya, officials said.
