One Arrested in Ujire Theft Case; Stolen Ornaments Worth Rs 4.68 Lakh Found

Mangaluru: The Belthangady police arrested Umesh Balegar, in connection with a burglary that took place at a residence in Ujire in August.

The authorities successfully recovered ornaments valued at Rs 4.68 lakh from the suspect.

In August, unidentified individuals forcibly entered the home of Felix Rodrigues in Ujire through the rear door. They absconded with 173 grams of gold ornaments worth Rs 6.92 lakh and an additional sum of Rs 35,000 in cash. This incident unfolded while Rodrigues and other occupants were away at work.

Law enforcement officials disclosed that Umesh was arrested in the Mysuru district.
