Mundgod: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramiah, while campaigning for Congress candidate Dr. Anjali Nimbalkar in the Uttara Kannda Lok Sabha constituency, delivered a fervent address on Friday.
Addressing a public convention, Siddaramiah launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, branding him as the "Master of Lies" and accusing the BJP of being a "Factory of Lies". He urged the audience to evaluate Modi's track record over his ten years in power, asserting that if Modi had fulfilled his promises, he deserved support, but if not, he deserved rejection. Siddaramiah highlighted Modi's response to educated youth seeking employment, referencing the suggestion to sell pakodas.
Emphasizing the Congress's commitment to equality and constitutional values, Siddaramiah underscored the importance of the party's survival for the protection of democracy. He criticized the Modi-led central government for its failure to address unemployment and create opportunities for investment, accusing it of resorting to divisive politics based on falsehoods, caste, and religion.
Siddaramiah urged the gathered crowd to see through Modi's tactics of deceit and division and reject him at the polls. He questioned the credibility of Modi's promises, particularly regarding doubling farmers' incomes and controlling essential prices.
Highlighting the Karnataka government's initiatives such as the Anna Bhagya scheme, Siddaramiah accused the previous Yeddyurappa-led government of diluting welfare measures, contrasting it with the Congress's commitment to implementing and expanding social welfare schemes.
Encouraging support for Dr. Anjali Nimbalkar in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections scheduled for May 7th, Siddaramiah implored the electorate to entrust her with their voices in Parliament to address their concerns effectively. He expressed confidence in the electorate's ability to discern between promises kept and broken, urging them to make an informed choice for the betterment of the constituency and the country.
