Bangalore: Anticipating a fractured mandate in the Karnataka elections, JD(S) legislature party leader H D Kumaraswamy announced that he is willing to form an alliance with either the BJP or Congress, depending on which party agrees to his conditions. This announcement was made in the context of seven out of ten exit polls on poll day indicating a fractured mandate, with the Congress emerging as the single largest party.
Speaking to the press before leaving for Singapore for a quick break before counting day, Kumaraswamy criticized the exit polls and called them manipulative, as several of them projected a major decline for the JD(S).
"I am still confident of winning 50 seats. This time, I will go with the party that agrees to fulfil my conditions," Kumaraswamy told the media.
