Kundapur: A tragic incident occured on September 29, Friday afternoon near Hemmady in Katbeltur Gram Panchayat when a couple inadvertently encountered a live wire that had snapped and fallen to the ground.

The deceased were indentified as Mahabala Devadiga (55) and his wife Lakshmi Devadiga (48).

Mahabala, employed as a laborer, had been engaged in some cleaning work at a local residence due to Ananta Chaturdashi festivities. Tragically, on his way back home, he inadvertently made contact with the severed electrical wire, resulting in his immediate demise.

Lakshmi, desperately searching for her husband, found him lifeless and promptly alerted nearby residents. 
A case is registered at Kundapur Rural Police Station.
