Kundapur: Lokayukta police arrested Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) of Belur Gram Panchayat in Kundapur on Tuesday for accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.

The accused identified as Jaynath.

The arrest came about after allegations surfaced that Jayanth had solicited a bribe of Rs 10,000 in exchange for facilitating the release of funds under the Basava Housing scheme. The complaint was filed by the affected individual, prompting the Lokayukta police to swiftly initiate an operation. 

Jayanth was arrested red-handed while accepting the bribe from the applicant at Thekkatte junction.
