Kundapur: A tragic incident occurred on Saturday evening when a labourer, Deep Chand, 38, from Uttar Pradesh, was struck by lightning and died near the sand pit of the Halnadu stream near Kandlur.

Deep Chand was reportedly sitting and talking in his house (labor shed) near the sand pit around 6 pm when he was struck by lightning and killed. 

After the postmortem, the family members will take the body back to their native place.

A case had been registered Kundapur rural police station.
