Mangaluru: A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) sub-inspector shot himself dead with his service revolver at a washroom near the New Mangalore Port main gate on Sunday.

The deceased, Zakir Hussain (58), was a resident of Raichur. He was posted on the night shift at the New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) main gate.

After completing his shift, Hussain proceeded to the washroom and shot himself. 

A case was registered at Panambur police station and an investigation is underway.
