Mangaluru: Gold worth Rs 76.5 lakh was confiscated at Mangaluru airport by Customs authorities. Between September 26 and September 27, three separate passengers were found to be carrying a total of 1.273kg of gold.
Following thorough checks, which included frisking, scanning of handbags, inspecting carton boxes, and extensive questioning of the three passengers, it was determined that they were carrying 24-carat gold valued at Rs 76.5 lakh.
In connection with the case, one of the passengers has been taken into custody.
