Mangaluru: A 37-year-old man from Chikkamagaluru tragically took his own life on Monday afternoon by leaping into the Netravathi river through a gap in the bridge's fencing. 

The man, identified as Prasanna, the son of B S Shankaragowda, had apparently found a way to bypass the protective barrier. 

The motive behind Prasanna's suicide remains unclear, and investigations are currently ongoing.
