Bhatkal: Namdhari organisations in the town organized a massive rally, demanding government funding for the establishment of the Narayan Guru Corporation.

Around 5,000 men and women, clad in white attire with yellow shawls gracefully draped on their shoulders, assembled at the Nischal Makki temple in Asarkiri. They paid their respects to the idol of Narayan Guru Swamy with floral offerings before proceeding to conduct the rally with impeccable discipline.

In a memorandum submitted to Bhatkal Tehsildar Tippe Swamy, it was emphasized that the Namdhari community, comprising 26 castes including Ediga, Namdhari, and Bellava under Backward Classes - 2A, constitutes the largest population in Karnataka. This community grapples with significant economic and educational challenges, justifying the longstanding demand for the establishment of the Narayan Guru Development Corporation.

While the previous BJP government had announced the creation of the Narayan Guru Development Corporation during its last term, no funds were allocated for its realization.

The current Congress government is being urged, through this memorandum, to expedite the formation of the Narayan Guru Development Corporation and allocate a fund of 1000 crore rupees for its implementation.

The program was inaugurated by Brahmanand Saraswati Swamy of Prajire Sri Ramashetra, who lit the ceremonial lamp. Padma Raj, Treasurer of the Mangalore Kudroli Gokarnatheshwar Mandir, and Krishna Nayak Asarkiri, President of Bhatkal Namdhari Sangha, also addressed the gathering.

Saarda hole Namdhari Samaj President Subraya Naik, Narayan Guru Swami Samiti President Manmohan Naik, Former Bhatkal MLA Sunil Naik, Suraj Naik Soni, Govind Naik, Vithal Naik etc were also present.
