New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the Manipur violence. Gandhi criticized the Prime Minister's behavior in Parliament, stating that it was inappropriate for him to joke while the state had been engulfed in turmoil for the past four months.

Accusing Modi of allowing Manipur to burn, Gandhi emphasized that the government possessed the means to quell the violence instantly if it wished to. He decried the dire situation in Manipur, where women and children were suffering, and condemned the Prime Minister for his seeming indifference.

Gandhi's condemnation extended to the BJP's political strategies, accusing them of employing divisive tactics that had contributed to the state's deterioration. He lamented the degradation of Manipur and contended that its destruction was a result of the BJP's policies.

Gandhi's criticism followed Prime Minister Modi's lengthy response to a no-confidence motion in Lok Sabha. Disapproving of Modi's jovial behavior during the parliamentary session, Gandhi highlighted the gravity of the situation in Manipur and berated the Prime Minister for trivializing the issue.

Gandhi shared his personal experiences during a visit to Manipur, where he was advised to avoid certain security personnel placements due to the potential risk of violence. He expressed dismay at the absence of control and authority in the state, suggesting that the Indian Army could resolve the situation within two days if directed to intervene.

Continuing his tirade, Gandhi asserted his faith in the Indian Army's ability to swiftly restore order. He insinuated that there might be undisclosed reasons preventing the Prime Minister from directly addressing the situation in Manipur.

Gandhi also critiqued Modi's Lok Sabha address, accusing him of belittling the state and its women. He called on the Prime Minister to transcend political considerations and embody the voice of the nation when holding the office.

In conclusion, Rahul Gandhi's reproachful statements highlighted Prime Minister Modi's alleged indifference towards the escalating violence in Manipur. He questioned the government's intentions and urged a more decisive response to the crisis, emphasizing the dire circumstances faced by the state's residents.
