Karwar: In the ongoing special brief revision program of the electoral roll in Uttara Kannada district, Ritish Kumar Singh, the district in-charge secretary and the observer of the electoral roll of the district, instructed that utmost responsibility should be exercised in preparing the electoral roll transparently, avoiding any omissions during the revision.

Presiding over a review meeting on the special brief revision of the electoral roll of the district at the District Commissioner's office on Thursday, Singh engaged with representatives of political parties in Uttara Kannada district.

He emphasized that priority must be given to the inclusion of young voters in the electoral roll. Singh directed the representatives to exercise caution while making changes and removing names from the electoral roll, ensuring that no eligible voter is deprived of their right to vote.

Furthermore, Singh emphasized that details regarding the addition, correction, and deletion of names in the voter list should be provided to representatives of all political parties without fail.

Singh urged the representatives of all political parties in the district to promptly report to the authorities if any omissions and errors are found in the electoral roll.

Highlighting the importance of a comprehensive and accurate voter list for ensuring free, transparent, and peaceful elections, Singh stated that the special brief revision program aims to remove deceased voters from the list, update voter addresses, make necessary corrections, include new voters, and register young voters.

He encouraged political parties to leverage their booth-level agents to gather information about discrepancies in the voter list at the booth level and make necessary corrections and additions. Additionally, Singh requested political parties to inform voters about the ongoing special revisions.

Post the special revision of the voter list, Singh advised the public to obtain a copy from the District Collector's office, verify the additions, corrections, and deletions, and assist in publishing the accurate final voter list.

Deputy Commissioner Gangubai Mankar mentioned that with regard to the special brief revision of the voter list, continuous updates are being provided to the representatives of all political parties in the district, and details of the revised list will be furnished.

The meeting was attended by G.P. Chief Operating Officer Ishwar Kumar Kandu, Additional Deputy Commissioner Prakash Rajput, all Sub-Divisional Officers, Tehsildars, T.P. Executive Officers, including Congress Party Representative Prabhakar Malesakar and BJP Representative Manoj Bhatt.
