Dandeli: A private school bus carrying students on an excursion to Dandeli overturned on Sunday, leaving 45 students injured.
The incident occurred while the students, who had completed water activities at Ganesh Gudi, were returning to Dandeli. The driver reportedly lost control of the bus while trying to avoid an oncoming car, causing the vehicle to roll into a roadside ditch.
The students are from St. Anthony High School in Hosadurga, Chitradurga district.
Immediately after the accident, staff from a nearby resort and local residents rushed to the scene to rescue the students. The injured were transported to Dandeli Government Hospital in two ambulances for treatment.
Local residents, including Rafiq Kutti, Irshad Khan, Ashfaq Naik, Mehboob Mujawar, and Ramesh Nadar, played a vital role in rescuing the children.
Police from the Ramnagar station visited the spot and have begun an investigation into the incident.
