Bengaluru: BJP MLA Munirathna from RR Nagar faces serious allegations of honey-trapping two former Chief Ministers and exploiting several women, including a rape survivor who came forward with startling claims. The woman, who accused Munirathna of rape, alleged that he used private videos to blackmail and rise politically. According to her, the honey-trapping incidents occurred in Bengaluru around 2020 or 2021.

During a press conference, the 40-year-old victim claimed that Munirathna has advanced video equipment, unlike any available to the media, which was used to secretly record the former Chief Ministers in compromising situations. She revealed that the MLA exploited multiple women for these schemes, some of whom were living with HIV. Despite the serious accusations, many of the victims are reportedly too scared to come forward, fearing the MLA's influence.

The woman stated that if the government provides her with protection, she is willing to hand over video evidence to the Special Investigation Team (SIT), including videos involving former Chief Ministers. She emphasized that her accusations are not politically motivated, but an effort to expose the truth about Munirathna’s actions.

She revealed that Munirathna’s cousin, Sudhakar Ramchandra Naidu, managed the equipment used for recording and controlling the honey-trapping operations. The victim also claimed she managed to save some video clips, which could potentially serve as evidence.

The MLA has been booked under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including rape, sexual harassment, voyeurism, criminal intimidation, extortion, and sections of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Currently, Munirathna is in judicial custody, and the SIT is investigating three cases registered against him—two in Vyalikaval police station in Bengaluru and one in Kaggalipura police station in Ramanagara.

In addition to these accusations, the victim further alleged that Munirathna used women to honey-trap other political figures, including MLAs, police officers, and government officials, with evidence of these acts stored on pen drives. She disclosed that five to six women were involved in these honey-trapping operations, and many are still silent out of fear.

The decision regarding Munirathna's bail application in the rape case has been postponed until the 15th of this month by the Special Court of People's Representatives, with government prosecutors arguing that he might destroy crucial evidence. Additionally, his request for a blood sample test has been delayed until Thursday.

As the investigation unfolds, the victim continues to appeal for government protection, urging other victims to come forward and expose Munirathna’s actions, which have allegedly ensnared around 20 to 30 political leaders.
