Mangaluru: Puttur rural police arrested three youths on Tuesday, confiscating stolen areca nut worth Rs 1,55,925 in the process.
The arrested has been identified as Shravan (20), Jayachandra (21), and Ashok (24), along with Puneeth (20), were implicated in the theft of 23 sackloads of areca nuts from the attic of a residence in Badagannuru, Puttur, on October 26.
Following the registration of a case, the Puttur rural police successfully apprehended Shravan and Jayachandra from Badagannuru village, along with Ashok and Puneeth from Nidpalli village.
In addition to recovering the stolen areca nuts, law enforcement also seized the car and autorickshaw utilized in the commission of the theft, as per police sources.
