Kasaragod: Two people lost their lives and six individuals suffered injuries in a car-scooter collision near Periya on the National Highway on January 9, Tuesday.

Gopalkrishna (55) and Narayanan (62), who were on the scooter, succumbed to the accident. 

The car passengers, including Shaheen (36), his wife Sahala, and relatives Saheen, Shamnas, Fathima, and Hana Fathima, are currently hospitalized. 

Additionally, a pedestrian named Hamza (65) sustained critical injuries and is receiving medical attention.

The injured were en route to Payyanur for passport-related matters when the incident occurred.
