Udupi: The accused in the murder case, who came from Santhekatte, arrived at Tripti Layout in Nejaru this morning in an auto-rickshaw, according to information from the rickshaw driver.
Speaking to the media, Shyam Auto driver stated, "Between 8:30 am and 9 am today, Sunday, an individual on a two-wheeler hailed my rickshaw on Queen's Road. He directed me to take him to Tripti Layout in Nejaru. Accordingly, I dropped him off at the gate of the house where the murder occurred."
"After leaving the murder scene, within 15 minutes, he returned to the Santhekatte auto stand and boarded another rickshaw in the queue. This time, I recognized him and mentioned that I would have waited if he had returned so soon. He didn't mind and instructed the new rickshaw driver to hurry," Shyam added.
Describing the man as around 45 years old, Shyam noted that he spoke Kannada, wore a mask, and only his eyes were visible. The bald-headed man had a white complexion.
Details of the incident: Hasina (42), a resident of Tripti Layout, Nejaru, along with her daughters Afnan (22) and Aynaz (20) and son Aseem (12), were fatally stabbed by an assailant this morning. Hasina's mother-in-law, Hajira (70), was also stabbed and seriously injured by the assailant. Her condition is said to be stable now.
