Udupi: Praveen Arun Chowgule, the accused of the Nejaru quadruple murder, had his judicial custody extended until December 18 by the Principal Civil Judge of Udupi and JMFC court.
Having previously been under police custody, Chowgule was brought before the court on November 22 and initially remanded to judicial custody until December 5. As the term concluded on Tuesday, the accused, now confined at the Parappana Agrahara Jail in Bengaluru, appeared before Principal Civil Judge Deepa via video conference.
Judge Deepa, overseeing the proceedings, decided to prolong the judicial custody for an additional 14 days, setting a new deadline of December 18.
