Udupi: Court Grants One-Day Custody for Chaitra Kundapur in Cheating Case

Udupi: Chaitra Kundapur, who was arrested in the cash-for-ticket scam, was presented before the Brahmavar court on Tuesday for her alleged involvement in a case of cheating.

The police sought a two-day remand for further investigation, but the Additional Civil Judge and First Class Judicial Magistrate granted only one day of custody.

Subsequently, under the supervision of CPI Diwakar P M from Brahmavar and PSI Shambulingaiah, a team interrogated Chaitra within the court premises, as per sources.

On Tuesday, the Kota police accompanied Chaitra from Bengaluru to Kota, after which she was transferred to the Parappana Agrahara Central Jail for purportedly deceiving a businessman with promises of a BJP ticket. 

Following the completion of the court proceedings, Chaitra was moved to the Mangaluru jail. According to police sources, she is scheduled to be returned to Bengaluru's Parappana Agrahara on Wednesday.
