Mangaluru: Swimmers from Puttur Aquatic Club, Vaishnav Hegde and Jyotsna Pansare, won medals in swimming contest held at Basavanagudi Aquatic Centre in Bengaluru recently.
Vaishnav Hegde participated in Naval trials and qualified for All India Inter Services Swimming championship (Army, Navy and Air force) to be held at Basavanagudi centre, Bengaluru.
Vaishnav won three gold medals in 50 metres breast stroke (29.01 seconds), 50 metres freestyle (24.1) and 100 metres breast stroke (1.06).
He will represent Indian Navy at the inter services meet.
Jyotsna Pansare won three gold medals in 50 m back stroke (31.3 ) and 50 m butterfly (29.3) and 100 m back stroke (1.08.88) at Senior State Aquatic Championship held in Bengaluru. She has qualified for prestigious Senior Nationals to be held at the Basavanagudi Swimming pool on October 26.
Both Vaishnav and Jyotsna are being trained at Dr Shivarama Karantha Balawana Swimming pool in Puttur and at St Aloysius Pool in Mangaluru by Coach Partha Varanashi, Coach Niroop G R, Coach Rohith and Coach Deekshith.
