Karwar: Seeking severe action against the culprits of Kathua and Unnao rape incidents, the Rabita e Millat Uttar-Kannada district Muslim Okkuta submitted a memorandum to the President of India through DC SS Nakul on Thursday, 19th April in Karwar.
Submitting the memorandum, they said that BJP leaders along with the lawyers of Jammu Bar Association are shamelessly trying to protect the accused. The oppression is continuously seen increasing in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Local authorities too were involved in the incident. The UP government has failed to provide safety for women in their state. The common man is suffering from the government's negligence, they said.
In the memorandum, they also expressed their deep resentment over the increase of politically backed atrocities against the weaker section in UP under CM Yogi Adityanath. They also pointed out the impunity being enjoyed by the Hindutva gangs led by local BJP leaders all over the state which has emboldened criminals like BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar to commit despicable acts of gang rape. The subsequent custodial death of the victim's father again shows that the state administration and police are under control of criminals backed by BJP.
On this occasion president of Rabita e Millat Uttar-Kannada unit A.P Muzawar, GS Muhammad Talha Siddibapa from Bhatkal, Muzaffar Shaikh from Kumta, Irfan from Haliyal, Basheer from Sirsi and others were present.
