Role of community and staff critical to improving education standards for poor kids

Karwar: Several schemes have been launched to increase the education standard in government schools. However, cooperation of department staff and community also plays a crucial role in this regard, Deputy Director of  Public Instructions P K Prakash observed. 

Distributing mini table and chairs, donated by Azad Youth Club and Inner Wheel, at Nagaponda Government Higher Primary School, at Sadashivagad here recently, he opined that quality of education could be improved with cooperation of all concerned.

Government schools develop good values among the students. However, free environment is necessary for better learning. Such an environment should be developed for the student, he added.

Inner Wheel Club President Susheela Gaonkar said, the club aims at supporting the educational progress of children from poor families.

Azad Youth Club representative Nazeer Ahmed U Shekh also spoke.

Karwar Lions Club President Altaf Shekh, Inner Wheel Club Secretary Bharati Sail and others participated.
