Sirsi: Legislative Assembly Speaker Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri said that the State government has implemented a project for the overall development of government schools that have completed 100 years and where the Jnanpith awardees were studied.
Under this initiative, the government had announced of sanctioning funds in the 2020-21 budget for the development of such schools. Accordingly, it has released Rs 3.12 crore for the development of Rayanna Hulekal School and Marikamba High School in the town where Jnanpith awardee Girish Karnad had studied.
He said, Rs 91.25 lakh has been given to Rayappa Hulekal School and Rs 2.09 crore has been released for Marikamba Government High School.
