Bengaluru/Bhatkal:  SM Yahya memorial hostel, which is popularly known as Bhatkal hostel, celebrated its 15th annual hostel day celebration here at Hotel Paraag located at Raj Bhawan road on Monday.

The program began with the recitation of verses from Holy Quran by Mohammed Saman Akrami, following the Hostel anthem was sung by Mohiddin Shammas Mohtesham which was written by late. Ashraf Barmawar who passed away recently in Bhatkal.

Cheif guest of the program, NA Haris, MLA of Shantinagar constituency, addressing the gathering thanked the organizing committee for inviting in the event as the chief guest. He lauded the youths of the hostel and made them as the pillars for strong future of the community. He also expressed his happiness over the youths for their hard work. "A community can see a growth in all positive aspects only if the youngsters actively come forward", he noted.

The guests of honor in the program included Imam & Khateeb of Masjid e Bilal, Maulana Mufti Ameen Asfar Saheb; Sayeed Shingeri and Wajid Kola.

On the occasion, entertainment games and the quiz was organized for students. A lucky draw was also a part of the event where the bumper prizes were 2gm gold, IPL ticket and Gift vouchers which were won by Abdul Baqi Siddiqui, Mohiddin Shammas, and Syed Zain S.M respectively. The program concluded with the dinner party arranged for all the attendees.

Musab Abida welcomed and introduced the guests, while Muhammad Sami Gangavali compered the event and Vote of thanks was delivered by Syed Asaqalan S.M.
