Mangaluru: The prestigious Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award for the year 2023 has been conferred upon Lakshmisha Tolpadi, a distinguished Kannada writer and thinker hailing from Shantigodu village near Puttur. Tolpadi is celebrated for his insightful collection of essays, 'Mahabharata Anusandhanada Bharata Yatre,' a work that explores the profound depths of the Mahabharata. These essays, originally featured in the Prajavani Sunday magazine 'Mukta Chanda' as a column, have garnered widespread acclaim for their depth and literary excellence.

Tolpadi's literary journey includes notable works such as 'Mahayuddhakke Munna,' 'Sampige Bhagavatha,' 'Betta Mahammadana Balige Baradiddare,' 'Ananda Lahari,' 'Maathige Munna,' and 'Bhaktiya Nepadalli.' In addition to his literary contributions, Lakshmisha Tolpadi is actively involved in the traditional art form of Talamaddale.
