Sambar deer rescued in Karwar

Karwar: A sambar deer, which fell inside a 50-metre cliff at Sankrubhag near Binaga village of Karwar taluk on Saturday, was rescued by the forest officials. Karwar forest officials said an eight-month-old sambar deer fell inside a cliff and sustained injury on its front right leg. The staff of Binaga forest area rescued it and took it to the veterinary doctor. They will keep the deer under observation for three-four days at Toduru forest office and leave it in forest once it is recovered, they added.
