Kumta: In a tragic road accident between a bus and the scooter that happened on Kumta NH-66 near Manki ground, the scooter came underneath the wheels of the private bus, resulting in serious injuries of the rider.

The injured rider has been identified as Kamalakar Bhandari, a resident of Alvekodi region in Kumta.

Reports from Kumta informed that the incident happened when the private tourist bus was on the way towards Kumta town from Honnavar, while scooter was in the opposite direction. As the colliding reported, the rider sustained grievous injuries, who was immediately taken to Manipal after giving initial treatments at Kumta govt hospital. 

The incident happened at around 4:30 pm.

A case has been registered in Kumta police station.
