Bhatkal: In a road accident that happened in between Omni car and scooter near Shifa cross NH-66 in the town, two persons including a student sustained severe injuries who were taken to Kundapur hospital after providing initial treatments at Bhatkal govt hospital. The incident happened on 22nd November, Wednesday at around 8:30 am.

The injured were identified as Sadanand Narayan Moger (45) and his daughter Parthavi Moger (12). 

It is said that the accident took place when Sadanand was overtaking a vehicle on NH-66 when he was going to drop his daughter at school. A speeding Omni car approaching in opposite direction collided their scooter, resulting in the serious injuries. 

The impact of the collision was such that Sadanand sustained grievous injuries over his head and leg, while his daughter Parthavi received minor injuries. 

A case has been registered in Bhatkal town police station.
