Mangaluru: The Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) demanded immediate arrest of VHP leader Jagdish Shenva for his alleged speech related to Basheer's murder and for spitting out controversial speech in the recent days.

It shall be noted that Jagdish Shenva, in one of the program, had stated that the Basheer was killed in order to take revenge of Deepak Rao's murder. He also asked the members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad not to feel sorry for Basheer's death. Rather, those groups who are doing such activities should be protected. He further also said that he won't be minding if any investigations will be carried on him.

The SDPI Dakshina Kannada district unit has strongly condemned his words and defined his speech as the encouragement for killers. They urged that some initial investigations revealed that there is an involvement of BJP in the murder of Deepak Rao, the statement from Jagdish was given to divert people's mind. In addition to his statement, Basheer's murder also shows signs of Jagdish Shenva's hand.

Terming Jagdish Shenva's speech to be controversial, the SDPI district president Haneef Khan Kodaje in a press release stated that Jagdish should be booked and arrested immediately and investigations also should be carried soon in this regard.
