Yellapur: Police security was beefed up in Yellapur town after the clashes between two communities that erupted over a petty issue, on 1st July, Sunday night.

Police vehicles were deployed in major areas and policemen took out a flag march in order to instill confidence among the people and check recurrence of the untoward incidents. 

Police arrested two persons involved in the incident and have initiated legal action against them. Some others involved in the incident are absconding.

What began as a petty verbal clash between youths of the two communities after a bike brushed against another person, at Nootanagarajaddi, in the town, it soon turned into a full blown assault case escalating tension in the town on Sunday night.

However, police rushed to the spot bringing the situation under control.
